Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC), headquartered in Birmingham, AL, operates Southern Company's six nuclear reactors at three locations in Georgia and Alabama: two reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, GA; two reactors at Plant Hatch, near Baxley, GA; and two reactors at Plant Farley, near Dothan, AL. In addition, construction activities are underway for two new reactors at our Plant Vogtle location.

Electronic and Media Communications Specialist (Corporate)
The Electronic and Media Communications Specialist is responsible for the strategic development, management and maintenance of company branding and original graphic design for multimedia including digital and print material. This individual should have a strong understanding and demonstrated expertise in graphic conceptualization and design, as well as the production and project management of graphic materials.
The Electronic and Media Communications Specialist also should be experienced in social media strategy, messaging and analytics. The individual should have knowledge of emerging trends and tools for communicating through social media networks, and provide recommendations to support changing business needs. Experience in web development, videography and photography is a plus.
Proven ability to conceptualize, design and produce graphic materials.
Expertise in using design programs such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Demonstrated communications experience in online social interaction and media sharing on social media networks including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
Excellent team player with good communication skills with both non-technical & technical co-workers.
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities, maintain schedules and perform in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written communication skills. Ability to write and edit for electronic communications.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate, collaborate and influence across departments and business units, and manage stakeholder expectations in a collaborative fashion. Skilled at gaining organizational support for projects and delivering results.
Capable of understanding company operations, key issues, policies and direction of the company and the industry.
Two or four-year degree in communications or graphic design preferred.
3-5 years related work experience preferred.
Strategic development, management and maintenance of company branding and graphic design.
Support communications across the fleet in meeting client needs in graphic design and material production.
Continuous consultation on project management and branding standards to better support the communication goals and business strategies of the company.
Post, listen, reply and escalate where appropriate on company social channels and platforms. Coordinate with Communications to evaluate news stories, opportunities and content relevancy for our external audiences. Provide monthly analytics on reach.
Support and assist the site communications leads and the other Electronic and Media Communications Specialist to update SNC intranet pages for the fleet and the plants’ sites, in audio/visual projects, photography and the creation of content for social media.
Partner with other company designers and developers to ensure collateral meets both client and company needs, align with the brand strategy platform, and meet Southern Company standards. Coordinate with other corporate communication departments to ensure consistent branding and results across all Southern Company sites.
