As a Journeyman I&C Technician at Plant Farley near Dothan, Alabama, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing plant instrumentation and controls; performing routine maintenance on plant measurement, control and monitoring equipment; performing surveillances and calibrations; and maintaining environmental monitoring equipment and systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety guidelines.


  • Successful completion of EEI MASS Test or predecessor tests.

  • Possess a valid driver's license.

  • Completion of U.S. Navy Electronic Technician School or equivalent/similar Electronics Technical school training certification.

  • Minimum of 4 years experience as either a Navy Nuclear Electronics Technician or an Industrial Instrument and Controls Technician

  • Satisfactory journeyman level skills evaluation must be completed prior to job award to include:

  • Calibrate/replace thermometer

  • Check/replace resistance temperature detector

  • Calibrate/replace pressure to current transmitter

  • Calibrate/replace RTD transmitter

  • Calibrate/replace pressure switch

  • Read schematics and prints

  • Calibrate float/displacer instrument

  • Calibrate/replace temperature switch

  • Demonstrate proper use of oscilloscope

  • Demonstrate proper use of torque wrench

  • Demonstrate proper soldering principles & practice

  • Demonstrate lug crimping principles and practice

  • Demonstrate proper use of multimeter

  • Demonstrate proper use of micrometer

  • Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Ability to follow critical procedures

  • Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of Electronics and Electrical Equipment

  • Ability to use Headset

  • Visual Acuity (including color)

This position is covered under a collective bargaining unit and will be filled in accordance with the bargaining unit’s Memorandum of Understanding.
