Marketing Analyst I

Job Summary:

This position will help in providing assistance to the Mass Market Retail Natural Gas Portfolio. The successful candidate for this role will have strong excel skills, a cursory knowledge of SQL and the ability to work within a cross-functional Marketing Team.

A key focus area for this role will be working on the Georgia Market. Responsibilities include providing weekly and monthly reports, support for list (direct mail or email) generation and providing ad hoc reports when required.

The marketing analyst must also be comfortable working with technical and non-technical people alike.

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities by Competency

Functional Expertise:

  • Extract data for various reports including monthly enrollment, churn and digital reports as well as daily enrollment reports

  • Extract data out of relational databases and associated tools/applications using predefined SQL queries

  • Using data extracts create reports in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft or PowerBI

Business Acumen:

  • Identify areas of opportunity and optimization in future campaigns and clearly articulate these to the internal teams

  • Understand the business well enough to translate it to reporting metrics and suggest new/better reports to assist Marketing team

Engagement:

  • Provide analysis to ensure that Mass Markets departmental and overall business objectives, goals and KPIs are met

  • Using the completed analyses work with the rest of the Analytics team in order to provide recommendations

Driving Results:

  • Work with the rest of the energy marketing team to ensure they are receiving the proper metrics in a timely manner

Qualifications

Education, Certification/Licenses:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Analytics, Marketing, Computer Science, Finance or Economics

Related Work Experience:

Required

  • 0-3 years in marketing and/or data analytics in a competitive environment

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a direct marketing/analytics environment for a service-related industry (financial services, telecom, insurance or warranty)

  • Analytical and communication skills

  • Experience in tracking various forms of marketing effectiveness including advertising, direct response, and integrated market planning

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

Required:

  • Proficient with MS-Excel

Preferred:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Power BI

  • Knowledge of SQL

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Minimal travel required (<10% travel): Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights

  • Hybrid work environment, on-site, 3 days per week

  • Physical requirements minimal
