Our Building Envelope Technicians offer comprehensive solutions from our national weatherization team, to aid in energy efficiency projects for several types of businesses. Summary

  • Can be entry level position with expectation to perform at levels described within 60 days of employment.

  • Responsible for performing the installation of Building Envelope solutions in accordance with standard practices and with minimal additional direction provided by the Building Envelope Foreman or co-workers after the initial 60 days of employment.

  • Maintain awareness and propose strategies to optimize the productivity of a Building Envelope project while meeting or exceeding quality standards that have been established with the client and marketplace.

  • Perform the duties assigned in a timely, professional, and safe manner.

  • Consistently meets the budgeted installation time per work description nearly all of the time.

Qualification Requirements

Shift work and extensive travel is expected.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and consistently demonstrate job growth in self-direction with routine tasks. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of two years relevant construction or similar trades hands-on work experience. Prefer individuals with prior Building Envelope work experience.

  • OSHA 10 minimum required for current employees, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

  • Possess basic computer skills related to monitoring business email, MS Word, and MS Excel.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Operate independently in the installation of basic, repetitive materials in a Building Envelope Solutions project, while consistently gaining skills to lessen need for direct supervision.

  • Willing to be instructed in work practices and productivity improvements by other BE Technicians and Foremen.

  • Capable of installing routine man door & garage door kits completely & roof to wall gun foam and bulk foam, simple installation of energy wall materials, & caulking.

  • Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and requirements – and consistent adherence thereto.

  • Strong verbal communication skills, minimal level of computer skills.

  • Follow material installation instructions.

Physical Demands

Climbing & standing on various types of ladders, safe use of, and knowledge in, appropriate and mandated restraints when operating in or on a lift, kneeling, reaching, balancing, lifting (up to 40 pounds regularly), working overhead. Observance of all OSHA standards as part of physical demands

Work Environment can vary greatly including indoors and outdoors in various climates including conditioned and unconditioned spaces.
