JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Marketing Strategist position is responsible for providing strategic marketing support to the Georgia market. This job requires analyzing and synthesizing complex data from multiple sources into comprehensive marketing recommendations for continuous improvement of existing products and development of new products and services. This role requires an innovative thinker with experience in a wide variety of areas such as customer acquisition and retention, customer experience, brand support, product development, and digital marketing. The Marketing Strategist position is responsible for working across business units to design, build, implement, and monitor new products and customer experiences that ultimately drive overall business goals. This individual will serve as the business owner of these initiatives, and will be responsible for working with IT, Customer Operations, and outside vendors to ensure products, and all associated features, meet customer needs, reinforce GNG’s brand, and support overall business objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES BY COMPETENCY

Functional Expertise:

  • Serve as business owner for marketing projects to develop new products or enhance customer experience.

  • Define and document business requirements to satisfy marketing department needs.

  • Coordinate and manage all facets of product launch (e.g. customer care center, IT, marketing, legal, regulatory, etc.).

  • Coordinate efforts with Operations, IT, and/or external vendors to ensure projects are designed, tested, implemented, and monitored per defined business requirements and objectives.

  • Document/track project progress and provide status updates to various parties as requested.

  • Provide assistance in corporate marketing plans and execution of strategies to maximize profitability and meet business goals.

  • Develop alternative marketing capabilities and strategies for entering niche markets/segments.

  • Coordinate with others to ensure complementary activities in the marketplace.

  • Utilize digital expertise to support online experience for marketing campaigns/promotions.

Business Acumen:

  • Monitor and evaluate performance of both new and existing products and processes to achieve overall marketing, financial, and business goals.

  • Understand how the internal and external tools interact to optimize the traditional and digital channels.

  • Assist with marketing research efforts to identify new market opportunities and to improve performance of existing functionality.

Engagement:

  • Gather and lead cross-functional teams to create and implement new plans, ideas, products and programs.

  • Build relationships in order to communicate with and influence people at all levels of the company.

Driving Results:

  • Improve product mix of customer portfolio based on product profitability.

  • Provide analysis and insight to develop product plans to support customer acquisition, retention, experience, and profitability.

  • Continuously analyze results and determine changes and adaptations to current plans in order to maximize bottom line results.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in business administration

Related Work Experience:

Required:

  • 8 years in marketing and/or data analytics in a competitive environment.

  • Proven success in participating in cross-functional teams in market planning and program implementation.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a marketing environment for a service-related industry (financial services, telecom, insurance, or warranty).

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

Required:

  • Thorough understanding of traditional and non-traditional marketing and research principles.

  • Ability to think systematically, strategically, and proactively.

  • Proven success of developing new ideas and marketing strategies that drive financial and market share results.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, staff, vendors, and partners.

  • Ability to plan, execute, and measure multiple high-priority activities within strict deadlines and budgets.

  • A history of translating business needs into customer focused products through strong writing and UX best practices.

  • Ability to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations to Marketing Manager/Director.

  • Must be able to work independently, yet able to operate effectively as a team player. Must be self-motivated.

Preferred:

  • Experience with digital design, development, or analytics tools

  • Proficient with SQL, or Access

  • Copywriting and design experience

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Minimal travel required (<5% travel): Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.

  • Will be working in an office environment
