Job Summary – Augusta Area Distribution Manager

The Distribution Manager (DM) is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for the Augusta Distribution Area. The DM for Augusta Distribution Area is responsible for all construction, maintenance, and restoration for the Georgia Power owned electrical system serving the Augusta, Waynesboro, and Thompson service territory. This DM position provides leadership to approximately 75 employees who are primarily made up of Supervisors, Engineers, Linemen, and Apprentice Linemen.

The DM will lead the team in a Safety Excellence environment with a focus on learning and ensuring critical risk plans and STEP observation tools are implemented. The DM will have accountability to ensure a culture within the team in accordance with “Our Values” that is inclusive, builds trust and is continuously improving. Development of the team members as well as communications within the team and with external partners are key responsibilities for the DM. The DM will provide leadership for planning, engineering, design, and construction of all activities in the area and will have area-wide responsibility for all Distribution functional budgets, compliance, and system maintenance to ensure reliable service. This includes investigating extended or significant outages as well as timely addressing customer issues that arise. This position will work closely with the other functional managers in the area to deliver best in class, customer value, reliability and efficiency as well as supporting external community activities. The DM will also serve as the area SERP Director and will be required to participate in SERP events across the Southern System and events off system as required.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required

BS in Engineering or related field is preferred

Job Experience

Proven leadership and commitment to Safety Excellence.

Proven record of dealing effectively with customers.

Influencer and champion for Diversity and Inclusion

A minimum of 5 years Power Delivery experience preferred.

Management experience is required with direct responsibility for performance management of leaders

Cross-functional, cross-company experience is a plus

Must have experience managing capital and O&M budgets

Prior experience managing covered employees is a plus

Experience with storm response and planning is a plus
