In addition, construction of two new reactors is ongoing at our Plant Vogtle location. Summary of Position Duties

• Monitoring all aspects of the Radiation Protection program and performance indicators to include:

• ALARA Program

• Implementing special projects to improve Radiation Protection Programs

• Implementing RP Technical Programs and associated responsibilities

• Tracking/Trending all radiological data related to plant performance indicators

• Benchmarking industry on Radiation Protection issues and site performance

• Filling the Emergency Response Organization position

• Administrative and document control duties as require

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education Requirements

Minimum

• Associates Degree in Radiation Protection Technology a physical science

Desired

• Bachelor’s Degree in Radiation Protection, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry or other physical science.

• NRRPT

• Certified Health Physicist

Background/Experience Requirements

• 5 years’ Experience in Radiation Protection or Radiation Protection programs is required

• 3 years BWR Radiation Protection Technician experience is preferred

• Experience with nuclear power plant outages, access control and ALARA is preferred

• Applicant must be able to obtain an unescorted badge at all SNC sites

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases are highly desirable

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required. Strong presentation skills are also required

• Strong ability to make decisions and drive behaviors is required

• Strong working knowledge of BWR nuclear power plant systems, processes, and procedures and clear understanding of and ability to apply regulatory requirements to plant settings are preferred

• Strong interpersonal skills are required

• Ability to balance multiple objectives and set priorities is required

•Ability to work independently

• Ability to problem solve and seek alternative solutions to complex issues is needed
