IT MANAGER, SNC – Plant Hatch
The Hatch IT Manager is a mid-level manager position that provides on-site technical leadership and oversight of the on-site Nuclear Technology Solutions (NTS) team located at Plant Hatch. This position provides 24/7, “first” responder support for all site technology issues involving software applications, telecommunications, network support and desktop support. The Hatch IT Manager also serves as a member of the Southern Nuclear Site Vice President (VP) Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This includes representing Nuclear Technology Solutions (NTS) in both tactical and strategic SLT meetings (day-to-day and quarterly off-site). Additionally, the Site IT Manager is required to comply with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations. This includes the requirement to successfully pass (>80%) NRC and SNC yearly required exams, initial/random Federal Drug Testing program, psychological testing and criminal background investigations to ensure a drug/alcohol free work environment and to ensure employees are trustworthy and reliable.
The Hatch IT Manager is also responsible for effectively managing financial resources, including SCS functional and billing budgets within the SNC project capital budget. Other responsibilities include managing all Hatch site and assigned SNC IT fleet projects and initiatives. Broad technical and business acumen, as well as the ability to think strategically and act tactically, are important dimensions for success in this leadership role. As this position is a mid-level manager position, 6 – 10 years of experience in on-site information technology and/or site nuclear power generation is required. Individuals not meeting the preferred requirements, will be offered the position commensurate with their qualifications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related technical field preferred. A master’s degree is advantageous.
6-10 plus years of site experience in nuclear business unit or on-site information technology experience is required
Previous leadership experience as supervisor/management or lead experience is preferred.
Day to day on-site supervision is required; telecommuting is very limited and only approved on a case-by-case basis.
Experience and Knowledge:
Demonstrated leadership experience leading diverse teams to deliver significant projects on time and within budget
Knowledge and understanding of the nuclear business unit or information technology experience is desired
Previous supervisory, lead or managerial experience preferred but not required.
Fundamental knowledge of how IT adds value to these organizations. Experience in nuclear generation is advantageous.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (Primary responsibilities of the job)

Ensure all site IT activities and systems are built according to plant design, IT Standards, and meet all NRC regulations.
Manage the organization (24x7 operations) as a business with emphasis on reliable operations for the computing infrastructure, communications systems, and applications; delivering high quality service that meets the needs of the customer in the changing business environment; ensuring financial performance and stewardship are at the core of all decisions
Provide technology solutions to business problems to meet or exceed customer's expectations for functionality, quality, cost, and timely delivery.
Conduct business in accordance with SCS & SNC policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., NRC, SOX, NIRMA, etc.).
Ensure all IT investments have a written business case; been reviewed, approved and prioritized by the Corporate Project Review Committee – Information Technology committee and have appropriate business unit sponsorship
Ensure a corporate, fleet or system-wide perspective is considered in all technology and process design activities.
Less than 10% travel is expected.
