JOB SUMMARY
This position reports to the Grid Distribution Construction Supervisor and is responsible for contract crews performing overhead/underground new construction and storm response. This position is also responsible for managing both overhead re-conducting and circuit reliability projects, UD cable replacement as well as OH to UD conversions, storm duty, the safety of crews and their performance on the Grid Program.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include (but not limited to): Coordinating contract resources to ensure that the Grid Investment Program Achieves Safety Excellence, budgetary needs, productivity, schedules, customer satisfaction and Reliability goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for circuit strategy, attending pre-construction meetings, quality control, and final walkdowns of assigned projects. To be effective in this position, the incumbent must work well with and communicate with Engineering and other departments, internal and external customers, Stakeholder Engagement, Forestry, Land Acquisition, Claims, etc. This job will require an alternate work schedule to accomplish the listed responsibilities. This person will have to communicate well and work closely with our Region Partners to maintain a reliable system during construction of Grid projects. The Grid Coordinator will also work closely with region leadership to support their storm restoration plans.
Experience Requirements:
Extensive Distribution engineering and/or construction experience required: maintenance, overhead, and underground construction knowledge.
Seven Years Distribution Experience.
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel), Distribution Viewer, ARMS, TCMS and JETS preferred.
Ability to analyze drawings, blueprints, specifications, proposals, and project documentation.
Demonstrated Safety Excellence.

Work schedule - Monday through Thursday, 4-10-hour workdays. Additional hours may be required for planned and scheduled outages to meet the customer’s needs, which include working evenings, weekends and holidays

This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
• Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver’s license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver’s license).
• Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
