Meter Specialist - Training
This position’s primary responsibility is developing and delivering training activities in the areas of Revenue Metering, Communication, Meter Service Order Work and other meter related courses to provide safe, reliable and accurate Metering Systems. This position reports to the Metering Services Training Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Primary functions of this position
Promote safe work practices
Develop training programs for new equipment, software and procedures
Develop web-based training
Write technical training manuals and work instructions
Proactively identify training needs and develop solutions to address needs
Education and Job Experience
Two year Technical Associate Degree/Certificate (or equivalent electrical/electronic work experience) preferred
Experience as a Meter Specialist with GPC is preferred
Extensive knowledge and experience with installation, testing and maintenance of commercials and industrial metering systems and current metering technologies
Minimum of five years’ experience as a Meterman A with GPC is preferred.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough understanding of advanced commercial and industrial meter systems
Extensive knowledge of installation and operating procedures for metering equipment and programming software
Extensive knowledge of common business practices related to Metering Services, Company Operations, Policies and Procedures
Expertise with METS, CSS and working experience with ARMS
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Strong communication skills including both written and verbal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all employees and across departments
Well organized and able to effectively prioritize tasks
Ability to put technical information into lesson plan format for training classes
Ability to make classroom presentation in a professional and understandable manner.
Ability to transfer knowledge to students
Proven ability to handle multiple project and competing deadlines.
Strong leadership skills
