Business and Industry Services Project Manager

Gulfport, MS


This position’s primary responsibility is to manage the successful completion of electrical and mechanical construction projects. This position will be responsible for the overall construction of projects assigned which includes successfully directing the Site Superintendent and other construction related personnel to safely execute the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule, and budget. This position is the lead for the project financials, project schedule, risk management, subcontractor relations, and customer relations. This position must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals, engineers, consultants, contractors, and customers.


  • Manage job site from mobilization efforts to project completion and demobilization efforts.

  • Create and manage budgets for each project, including supplies, material and labor.

  • Review project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, cost savings measures, and potential construction problems.

  • Assist engineers in project estimating.

  • Assist with project planning and develop critical path schedules. Monitor and maintain schedules on a weekly basis.

  • Engage with design team and customers on cost saving opportunities.

  • Oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed on all job sites.

  • Maintain constant communication with customers. Establish and lead weekly project meetings.

  • Develop strong relationships with architects, engineers, design consultants, and contractors.

  • Work with teams to develop and support electric end use equipment sales strategies and “energy use of efficiency” related market programs to meet customer’s changing requirements.


  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related construction manager field required.

  • Certified Construction Manager is a plus.

  • Up to date on OSHA 30-hour Construction is a plus.

  • Ideal candidate will have strong project/construction management experience (minimum of 5 years).

  • Demonstrated experience in project/construction management and adherence to construction timelines, critical path management, and budget management.

  • Working knowledge of developing and maintaining project critical path schedules.

  • Demonstrated management skills in leading construction meetings and communicating with contractors and customers.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer issues, identify solutions, and negotiate positive outcomes in a highly profession manner.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to multi-task.

  • Good written, verbal, and listening communication skills including interface with internal and external customers, contractors and multiple levels of management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
