Operations Support Specialist

Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to: modeling and engineering Transmission and Distribution capital, O&M, and Distribution Automation (DA) projects in the Siemens Spectrum Energy Management System (EMS) and the GE Energy Management Systems (DSCADA). This position performs check-out of new and existing Transmission and Distribution facilities with field personnel, coordinating work with support personnel to ensure devices are operating correctly and are modelled correctly for use by Transmission and Distribution control center operators or other work groups. This position also performs DSCADA and OAG system stop/starts to apply database updates in the DSCADA system. This position must balance multiple priorities and coordinate work with various groups within and outside of the Power Delivery organization.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering degree preferred

Proficiency with GE and/or Siemens Energy Management Systems preferred.

2 plus years’ experience with SCADA systems preferred

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

Major Job Responsibilities

Model Transmission and Distribution capital, O&M, and DA projects in the Siemens Spectrum Energy Management System (EMS) and the GE Energy Management Systems (DSCADA).

Support ongoing modeling, checkout and commissioning of projects with field engineers, DA technicians for both Transmission and Distribution.

Respond in real-time to various customer requests from the TCC, DCC, and field personnel.

Perform DSCADA system stop/starts to apply updates and changes to the DSCADA System.

This position will require additional background check screening, as it is an Internal Threat position.
