BASIC FUNCTION:

This role will conduct risk assessments and follow up on organizations Risk Management Policy to address any policy deficiencies, as well as, conduct fact-finding reviews to ascertain the root cause of any policy deficiencies. This role will require communicating with individuals throughout the organization regarding risk practices and emerging risks. This role will also regularly act as a consultative resource to the first and second lines of defense, put together risk presentation or informational reports for business unit leaders, executive management and the Board of Directors.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the ongoing oversight of our Risk Management Policy in support of compliance.

  • Execute and monitor risk management practices, detailed investigation of operational issues and control breakdowns to determine root cause and trends.

  • Complete control assurance testing on critical controls and present results to senior management and assist businesses in the scoping and deployment of significant business enhancements, such as new system implementations, process changes and business integrations, to ensure operational risks have been considered and mitigated.

  • Develop ad-hoc analysis, deep dive investigations and drive specific risk initiatives as needed.

  • Analytical and investigative mindset, attention to detail.

  • Ability to interpret trading data and to independently provide summary of operational data.

  • Ability to handle multiple task and prioritize.

  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality.

  • Provides routine day-to-day support and service to other groups within the Risk Control Organization.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or Business.

Preferred:

  • Risk management experience within a small organization OR equivalent academic education and experience.

  • Solid understanding of natural gas markets.

  • Strong excel skills (pivot tables, data visualization, etc.).

  • Openlink-Endur.

  • 1-5 years of experience in risk management in the natural gas marketing and trading industry.

SKILLS:

  • MS Word - basic proficiency.

  • MS Excel - intermediate proficiency.

  • MS PowerPoint - intermediate proficiency.

  • Visual Basic - basic proficiency.
