EEP Marketing & Communications Specialist

Description

This position is responsible for demonstrating in-depth creative design and marketing expertise to support the execution of the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program’s engagement and outreach strategies. Primarily responsible for graphic design, brand maintenance and style guide updates, marketing collateral, digital marketing design and other creative elements that are needed to support the program. Creates templates and champions the overall style aesthetic for the Energy Efficiency Program. Manages and executes Nicor Gas energy efficiency web pages and email marketing in support of the overall marketing planning and strategy. Tracks, analyzes, and reports marketing metrics for effective campaigns. Coordinates and delivers internal and external communications including print media and HTML emails. Strategically partners with corporate communications to ensure alignment and consistency with corporate branding. Produces collateral including (but not limited to) print media, display graphics, direct mail, email and HTML, digital graphics, and applications. Assists with brand development for events, customer outreach, and presentations. Coordinates with energy efficiency program staff and implementation contractors for customer, partner, and contractor engagement opportunities. Criticality:

Functional Expertise:

•Uses in-depth knowledge of project management to execute website traffic and review procedures in coordination with internal departments and external consultants.

•Review and edit department presentations, reports, and external-facing branded materials and recommend best practices.

•Design templates for marketing materials, presentations, display graphics, and other collateral.

•Oversees and executes Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency websites and email marketing strategy and tactics.

•Design templates for marketing materials, presentations, display graphics, and other collateral.

•Play key role in execution of the Energy Efficiency Program marketing and communications plan.

•Uses best practices and knowledge to review materials for consistency with brand and identity guidelines.

•Design, coordinate and manage production of print materials, promotional items, and other collateral

•Design, create, execute, and monitor HTML emails using email marketing products.

•Design digital communications including banner ads, web tiles, and Energy Efficiency Program website graphics.

•Optimizes existing resources and leverages research to author content for marketing materials and presentations.

•Design templates for marketing materials, presentations, display graphics, and other collateral.

•Makes updates as needed to the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency website.

•Ensure marketing collateral and external-facing materials align with corporate brand identity and guidelines, marketing plans, and strategic plans.

•Uphold brand integrity and message consistency aligning with corporate branding.

•Proactively recommends and drives process improvements.

•Keep current with industry trends and innovations in creative marketing and graphic design.

Engagement:

•Collaborate with executives and business leaders across the company to achieve marketing and communications goals.

•Coordinate information sharing and communication activities with Corporate Communications, consultants, business units, and other functional groups across the organization.

•Demonstrates honesty, respect, company values, diversity, and equity.

Driving Results:

•Manages metrics to make recommendations and improve design and marketing efforts.

•Accountability for achieving results relating to customer engagement with the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program.

Qualifications

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Required:

•Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Design, or equivalent experience

•In-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

•In-depth knowledge of MS Office Suite including PowerPoint and Publisher

Preferred:

•5 years Graphic Design or Advertising experience

•Adobe Certified in Graphic Design and Illustration with Adobe Illustrator or Print and Digital Media with InDesign

•Project management experience

•Experience in energy or environmental-related industry a plus

•Experience in website management and traffic coordination a plus

Related Work Experience:

Required:

•Minimum 5 years work experience in marketing, advertising or some combination of related education and work experience

•Previous photography and/or videography experience a plus

•Experience working with Acoustic a plus

•Experience in website management and traffic coordination a plus

Preferred:

•Experience in energy or environmental-related industry a plus

Applicant may possess a combination of equivalent education and work experience.

Required:

•Core marketing and advertising skills (graphic design, research, written communications)

•Proven relationship-building skills at all levels within an organization

•Exceptionally strong graphic design skills

•Ability to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand and relatable ones for target audiences

•Proficient use of MS Office Suite with an emphasis on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint formatting

•Self-starter with exceptional follow-up skills

•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines

•Ability to hold self and others accountable for results

Preferred:

•Google Analytics, Prezi and HTML experience is a plus

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

•Due to nature of role, employee may occasionally work beyond traditional business hours to meet deadlines or attend events as company representative.

•Occasional local travel: The incumbent will be required to travel on occasion.
