Description

PowerSecure is seeking a Business Developer for the Public Power markets. This role has the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's growth through building long term relationships within the public power markets. The Business Developer will work directly with American Public Power Association, Hometown Connections, Joint Action Agencies, State/Regional Associations and Public Power Utilities and their customers for the sole purpose of expanding PowerSecure's market reach. This team member will work cross-functionally and collaboratively with PowerSecure’s engineering, marketing /new product development, and finance teams to identify, enable, and execute new projects in new and existing markets. This position is eligible to work remotely!

The responsibilities of this job will be focus on:

• 70% New Business Development

• 25% Utility Business Development Alliance Partnership management

• 5% supporting needs of marketing and new product development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Engineering, or Marketing), MBA preferred

  • 4+ years of Business Development / Sales work experience within the public power/energy sector or renewable power

  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Key Public Power Account Executive (KPPAC) certifications - preferred

  • Certified Power Quality Professional, Certified Energy Procurement Professional or Business Energy Professional certifications are a plus

  • Ability to travel 60%-70% of the time

  • Knowledge of electrical distribution providers
