JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for ensuring Georgia Power’s SiteView solutions adequately meet customers’ needs. This resource will work closely with the Technical Sales Account Executives (TSAEs) to qualify new SiteView opportunities - focusing on the technical aspects of the solution. The Sales Engineer will play a key role in the proposal process for new jobs by articulating and demonstrating SiteView solutions, developing the technical requirements, and confirming that the solution meets the prospect’s requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with surveillance VMS systems such as Avigilon, Genetec, Milestone and others

  • Experience or working knowledge of major camera suppliers such as Axis, Avigilon, Bosch, etc.

  • 5 years sales engineering or customer-facing experience in IT, Physical Security or SaaS

  • 4 to 5 years’ experience designing RF or wireless networks using Unlicensed and Licensed radio bands

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in fiber optic design of complex networks between MW radio and Optical Data equipment such as switches and routers.

  • Preferred experience with FCC regulations for commissioning microwave radio systems

  • Advanced technical knowledge in the network discipline of Enterprise Physical Security and Cloud IoT solutions

  • System Integration experience including integration of Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion, and Fire security systems

  • In-depth knowledge of storage solutions such as NAS SAN etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol

  • Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows OS

  • Excellent knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical / engineering discipline or equivalent experience

  • IT certifications such as MCSE, VCP or CCNA, CompTIA A a plus

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-Sales and Sales Opportunities Support

  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for SiteView

  • Assist TSAEs with pre-sales and sales opportunities, specifically:

  • Assist TSAEs with RFP technical responses

  • Accompany TSAEs on site walk-throughs, as needed

  • Educate customers on the various security products available

  • Scope and manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Develop proposals

  • Provide solution designs to fulfill customer requirements (e.g., security systems including IP Video Surveillance)

  • Prepare comprehensive bill of materials

  • Work and communicate effectively in a matrix environment with non-technical resources

  • Develop strong relationships with SiteView customers and technology partners

  • Support trade shows and exhibitions for SiteView demonstrations

  • Conduct in-depth SiteView technical product demonstrations and presentations

  • Implement pilot and proof of concept installations

  • Provide technical feedback to the SiteView Product Management team to drive continuous improvement and provide superior customer experience

Solutions Design

  • Design the appropriate solutions to address customers’ needs working with vendor partners (surveillance integrators) and internal teams

  • Define product functional requirements based on customer needs and document specific configuration requirements

  • Develop SiteView engineering designs using company owned or provider telecommunications network.

  • Ensure compliance with FCC regulations when it comes designing wireless networks for SiteView

  • Develop fiber optic design for SiteView networks to include company owned fiber or leased fiber.

  • Develop RF design of SiteView network this includes understanding unlicensed and licensed radio bands, MW radio product selection, and completing RF path profiles
