EMS Security Analyst/Engineer (Energy Management Systems)

Location: Birmingham, Alabama or Atlanta, GA

Summary of Position Duties

This position is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and support of the cyber security applications and associated systems utilized in the Energy Management Systems (EMS) department. The successful applicant will assist in administration activities, developing, testing, and implementing security hardware/software, plans, policies and procedures. The successful candidate will work with team members to support the Cyber Security and administration of security systems required to operate a real-time supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system.

Education

  • Degree in computer science, MIS, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience

  • Industry certification preferred (CISSP, CISA, CISM) or equivalent experience.

Major Responsibilities

  • Experience with ArcSight Logger and ESM

  • Experience with data correlation for different data types to create reports and dashboards a plus. (BMC CMDB, ArcSight, Zenoss, etc…)

  • Work with subject matter experts to harden systems and eliminate unwanted network traffic across the environment.

  • Experience with Tenable Vulnerability Management

  • Experience with Windows domain authentication, Cisco ISE, RSA two-factor Authentication.

  • Experience in the support of Windows domain administration and group policy.

  • Experience with virtualization and Citrix based remote access systems.

  • Experience in system administration of Windows based operating systems.

  • Experience in system administration of RHEL Linux experience.

  • Experience in host-based security of UNIX or Windows operating systems.

  • Experience in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, shell, or PowerShell.

  • Evaluate new security technologies and provide input into EMS strategic plan.

  • Provide technical support for Sarbanes-Oxley, FERC, NERC and SERC compliance.

  • Partner with others to help troubleshoot, identify, and resolve production issues as related to security issues.

  • Ability to meet Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Sarbanes-Oxley and other federal regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Maintain a current knowledge of new security technologies and security practices.
