Risk Management Consultant

This position is in Supply Chain Management in the Shared Services section. The purpose of this position is to implement, administer, and monitor the risk management program for Supply Chain Management (SCM). The risk management program includes development and implementation of strategies and processes for third-party risk management, segmentation of suppliers, and reporting of supply chain risk. The position is also responsible for facilitating interactions with all stakeholders and suppliers and ensuring the company’s commitment to risk management is communicated and demonstrated clearly to internal and external stakeholders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, supply chain, economics, or related field

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience or similar experience

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and legislation impacting supply chain in the context of risk, sustainability, compliance, and related regulations, industry standards and guidance

  • Understanding of the utility industry and the potential impact on the supply chain from events occurring worldwide

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented

  • Learning mindset

  • Comfortable working with data and developing and implementing new processes and programs

  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities, both external and internal

  • Knowledge of business processes, AI, data structures, and systems. Experience with Oracle Cloud, Maximo, Fortress, and SMART by GEP is a plus.

  • A supply chain management or risk management certification is a plus.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with a dynamic utility across multiple states / jurisdictions to transform complex supplier risks into scalable, cost-effective solutions using sector and competency knowledge

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with leadership and key business stakeholders to make risk-informed supplier decisions in a consultative manner throughout the strategic and business planning processes by the integration of risk management

  • Demonstrate and apply risk management concepts such as risk governance, risk appetite and risk tolerance, risk limits, key risk indicators (KRIs) and cost benefit analysis

  • Apply risk experience in controls / indicator implementation, rationalization, automation, design, risk quantification and scoring

  • Drive a system-wide organization to execute risk management concepts into end-to-end supply chain management practices including supplier lifecycle, contract management lifecycle, and sourcing.

  • Educate business partners to understand their role in the risk identification process to ensure effective mitigations and monitoring

  • Ability to create and manage remediation of risk findings, including implementing new policies

  • Leverage technologies to effectively manage the supply chain risk management and sustainability processes

  • Utilize subscription-based information systems to gather and analyze data to be used in decision-making in the risk management process

  • Summarize and present ideas, findings, education, and other concepts in a concise and focused manner to audiences at various levels within the organization

  • Coordinate response gathering and data collection for applicable risk and sustainability related events
